Putin says coronavirus remains direct threat to Russia

MOSCOW, Apr 21 (PRIME) – Russia has not defeated the coronavirus, which remains a direct threat to the country, President Vladimir Putin said in an address to the Federal Assembly, the parliament, on Wednesday.

He said that Russia aims at reaching a life expectancy of 78 by 2030. "We will not cancel the strategic goals in this area. I understand very well that this is a really hard task. The hardest, especially since the coronavirus has not been defeated, it remains a direct threat," Putin said.

"Today's address will be mainly focused on the domestic issues. These are healthcare, social policies, the economy, or course, but we have to say a couple of words about foreign affairs as well, a couple of words literally about security."
